Childhood dream: Not sure I had a single dream… quite a few things I was interested in.  But I knew for a fact that I wanted to do something I loved!

One sentence highlighting your current role: Difficult to explain what I do in a simple way because there is nothing simple about it. I am the in-house Tax and Structuring person which basically means I provide assistance to the Business to accomplish their cross-border investments and transactions in an efficient manner, and in particular making sure that tax issues are addressed properly.

What do you enjoy the most about the student housing and micro-living sector? I’m a real estate passionate, all kinds shapes and forms. It’s what I’ve done for the past 15 years. Student housing is an area that didn’t really exist as such and I witnessed its birth and growth. Now it’s a separate field itself. That makes it a special type of real estate.

Did you study or lived abroad and if so, where? I lived in London for nearly 11 years. Best experience of my life!

Where did you live as a student, and how different was the student accommodation landscape back then? I was a student in Lisbon, Portugal and things were very different back then. Student accommodation wasn’t really a thing… everyone just lived at their parents! Living alone and doing your own thing at that age just wasn’t something that happened. I wish I had something as cool as my own flat inside a student community: these kids have no idea how privileged they are!

Tell us something we don’t know about you? My grandfather was a famous football player for one of the Premier League Portuguese teams back in the 50’s. I am extremely proud that I am his flesh and blood.

Among the many projects we have in the pipelines, what are you most excited about? At the moment there is a specific  project in Portugal that I am very excited about… I can’t really talk about it for the time being. But fingers crossed because it is quite something!
