Childhood dream? I wanted to be an explorer and a politician.
One sentence highlighting your role: I act as a swiss army knife to support our executives and scale our team’s platform.
What do you enjoy the most about the student housing and microliving sector? Student housing is recession-resistant. Also, universities and students in general are the epicenter of the most vibrant submarkets. Due to our long term leases with the students, we can build relationships and use our brand to facilitate the student’s growth intellectually, vocationally, socially, etc.
Did you study or lived abroad and if so, where? Yes, in the past I studied abroad in Spain and spent summers in Peru and Argentina. Studying abroad is one of the best decisions anyone can make.
Where did you live as a student, and how different was the student accommodation landscape back then? In Spain, the student housing was quite poor. But, while studying in Los Angeles…the American student housing stock is quite advanced compared to Europe. I lived in the equivalent of a “student resort”, with pools, volleyball courts, a restaurant, a gym, and many other amenities. To be fair, it was a bit over the top. If anyone is interested, google “The Lorenzo – Los Angeles”.
Tell us something we don’t know about you? Starting in high school, I founded, scaled, and sold a beach towel company. It was called “Sun Siesta Beach Towel”. In the end, it was a lot of work for not that much money – but I learned the fundamentals of business and much more from the experience.
Among the many projects we have in the pipelines, what are you most excited about? We are developing a new hospitality brand with a partner in Barcelona. It is a secret project which will shake up the youth travel industry. Stay tuned!
